high school: last routes

I am going to wipe the dust off this withering blog by talking about some of the last moments of my high school where everyone busied themselves by bonding with each other before graduation; just like how Cinderella did her last-minute run of her life before the clock strike 12. This is going to be a long ass post sorry!

In line with our Foundation Week last February, the school organized a concert on the last day highlighting a production showcasing the life of David and together with Jovi, we transcribed the script and edited the audio-visual presentation of the play. It was tiring lol. Intermediate pupils also hand mimed the song Hosanna by Hillsong which was a-w-e-s-o-m-e and very inspiring!! *I got teary eyed*

(extra fact: I played basketball during our sportsfest and even though I was just like strolling in the park and almost shot the ball in the opponent’s court, it was worth it!)

Retreat 0123-0124 ; that is me almost literally going to rolf (roll on the floor laughing) because retreat was v fun!! Not everyone in our batch went because of some issues and the school probably thought that their absence would make the overnight stay peaceful but they were wrong–we still caused ruckus. Worst batch ever, right? lmao

There were dogs in the camp and they stole some of our hotdog sandwiches when we were having our own activity lmao. No hotdogs were stolen when we were having our campfire though!

This year was the best JS Prom for me!! The venue was great, the food was great, the program was great, the dance was great! All of us were partying, living da yolo lyf, dancing to Hot Nigga, having showdowns with each other and with the juniors–it was just amazing! (And when the dj switched from upbeat to slow, everyone made their way back to their own tables lmao)

Paolo, one of my batchmates, created a video of the seniors dancing to Break Free and if you’re bored and you decided to watch it, you’ll hear us singing “this is the power!” and there’s a story behind it because when we did our L.A. Walk for PE, Alyn was singing along to that Grande song to coordinate the steps and she sang those lyrics and Moriah (our section) was like “HUH?” then laughed lmao

I was also shocked that I got nominated for a prom thing but we had to walk the runway (because that’s the theme) and well, match the slippery floors with my wobbly stilettos and my clumsy self, I almost made myself kiss the tiles by tripping! But still, it was sooo fun!

Post-Baccalaureate 0325; We wrote notes on our school uniforms for some memory to keep, and just because this activity is fun! Tbh that day was also the day I only got to be close enough to interact with my schoolmate since 6th Grade, Nathaniel, the guy on the picture. Ang sad diba hahaha

Again, we weren’t complete on that day because some were absent while others went home early. But still, it was crazy!

Some of us Moriah students held a belated birthday surprise for our adviser, Ma’am B!

and finally, Graduation Day 0328! I quoted Kyoichi Katayama saying “It’s not the parting or the absence that’s sad. You love them, and that’s why saying good-bye breaks your heart.” I will miss my friends so much, all those memories created are definitely something worth to treasure! It will be my first time to transfer schools, so I am fairly excited and nervous for college!
